What we collect:

The type of personal information that we collect from you is limited to some or all of the following:

  • Your name

  • Your telephone number

  • Your address (and the address you would like the purchased goods delivered to if that is different)

  • Your email address

How and why we collect it:

Personal information that we process is provided to us directly by you for any of the following reasons:

  • You need us to contact you regarding a quote

  • You have made a purchase and we have your details so that we can let you know when your goods are in and can arrange delivery

  • We need to deliver your goods to your home (or other) address

We do not receive any personal information indirectly, from any other sources. We use your information to provide you with customer service. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent: you are willing to give us this information to us in order for us to provide you with a service. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us on 01332 200096 or at info@derbybedcentre.co.uk.

  • We have a legitimate interest: the information you give us is necessary for us to meet our contractual obligations with you. We are unable to provide the service for which we are in business if we are unable to contact you or know where to deliver goods.

Your information is not shared with any third party, with the exception of those required in order to provide the service (e.g. our delivery team or the goods supplier if delivery is directly from them to you). Personal data provided to us will never be sold, leased or made available to third parties for marketing purposes.

The use of our website is possible without providing any personal data. If you choose to contact us via our website (live chat function) or by Facebook or email, this is always on a voluntary basis. Please however note that data transmission om the internet may result in gaps in security; it is not possible to completely protect data from being accessed by third parties.

When you visit our Facebook page, the plugin establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server and Facebook will receive the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the ‘Like’ button while logged into your Facebook account, you can link the contents of our pages to your Facebook profile and this allows Facebook to map your visit to our page with your user account. As the provider of the pages, please note that we do not receive any knowledge of the content of the transmitted data and their use by Facebook.

Our website (derbybedcentre.co.uk) uses the functions of the web analytics service, Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., USA. Google Analytics uses what are termed ‘cookies’. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The provider of our webpages automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. This comprises: browser type/version; operating system used; referrer URL; hostname of the accessing computer; and time of server request. This data cannot be assigned to specific persons and is not combined with any other data sources.

How we store your personal information:

Your information is kept as follows:

  • In paper format on our copies of the sales dockets. These are archived and retained for 10 years

  • In electronic format (name only) for our sales/accounts records. This is limited to a Christian name or surname, not your full name. These records are also retained on the company server for 10 years.

Once these storage periods have expired, electronic files will be deleted and hard copy files are destroyed (shredded).

Your data protection rights:

Under data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ask us for copies of your personal information

  • ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You have also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete

  • ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances

  • ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances

  • object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances

How to complain:
